Heliconia Psittacorum ‘Hawaii’

Be transported to a tropical paradise with this unusual Heliconia ‘Hawaii’! The handsome foliage of this rarely-seen houseplant resembles a banana, forming thick stems sheathed in bold, glossy leaves with ribbed veins and pointed tips. From within this nest of tropical foliage, emerge tall, upright stems which carry waxy bracts splashed in the reds and yellows of a tropical bird. Keep it in bright but indirect light and it will bear an abundance of these exotic flowers throughout summer. Eventual height and spread: 50cm (20in).
